Atelier M frames each project through the idea of home, not only as dwelling, but as a place of belonging. Homes for work, creativity, community and daily life.
All projects are treated as unique opportunities to balance design ambition with clarity, functionality, and long-term value.
Each project begins by understanding the site, brief and hopes of the client. Atelier M welcome clients who are engaged with art, travel, books, film as well as design and who are open to exploring the possibilities of their project.
Design ideas are developed through an open, iterative process that gives space to test options, refine details, and arrive at well-resolved outcomes. Working closely with the project team from concept through to completion, the practice ensures projects are both thoughtfully designed and carefully delivered.
Miriam Green leads every project with genuine continuity, from the first conversation to the moment of handover.
The studio is deliberately small, allowing the practice to be nimble, selective and fully present on every project it undertakes. Miriam’s experience navigating heritage requirements, conservation controls, remote locations and complex approval pathways allows the studio to guide clients calmly through even the most challenging sites.
The practice also creates room to collaborate with other architects and designers, and with a trusted network of consultants and builders assembled over two decades in industry. New collaborators are always welcome, provided they bring the same commitment to craft and care that the studio holds as a standard.
Atelier M is based in Chippendale and has a presence in the Illawarra.
Meet Miriam Green, Director of Atelier M.
Miriam has built Atelier M on the conviction that good architecture is inseparable from good listening. Architecture, done well, is a conversation.
After graduating from the University of Sydney with First Class Honours she accumulated over twenty years of experience in leading Australian architecture firms where she contributed to award-winning residential, cultural, and institutional projects. The depth of experience, technical rigour, and design intelligence she brings to Atelier M is real and hard won.
She enjoys working with clients who are curious. Curious about what good design can do for how they live, about material, space and details. Miriam looks forward to working with clients to achieve the best possible outcome for the project.
